As the Sr Manager / Lead of Global Microsoft SQL Server DBA, you will lead a team of DBA's who are supporting Business, Application and Infrastructure driven strategic initiatives in designing and implementing optimum database solutions to meet the needs of Treasury Services.   The lead will be responsible for providing the strategic roadmap for the full suite of Microsoft SQLServer products and implementing that roadmap across TSS databases.  They will need to maintain a strong relationship with the vendor in order to keep pace with the changes in the Microsoft product suite and insure the TSS roadmap is adjusted to meet the vendor's product plans.  They will define standards and policies to support the Global Microsoft database footprint and that will be utilized by the Global DBA community in a sufficiently consistent fashion that Global support is easily achievable. They will work with application teams to insure the application design utilizes the Microsoft product suite effectively and matches each application requirement with the correct solution.  They will work with application teams, infrastructure teams and business partners in order to design, development and implement database solutions that are sufficiently flexible to support the constant changes driven by the business needs of TSS.  They will insure their team is providing high quality database support for all the Microsoft databases within TSS in an efficient and cost effective fashion.   This role demands a high level of interaction with the clients, management, vendors and other infrastructure teams ensuring that the correct solutions are implemented and that JPMC and TSS needs are met on timely basis.   Responsibilities Include: Develop and implement the strategic roadmap for the use of Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft products in TSS.  Define the set of products and versions to be used in production.  Define the standards, policies and procedures to be followed by the global database team.  And insure the global team is operating according to the standards
Work with architects, engineers, development teams, business product group and peers to understand the business requirements and help design, develop and implement solutions that meet the business needs
Develop and implement policies, procedures, technical solutions and best practices that relate to the effective implementation and operation of VLDB/ODS/In-memory databases/etc. that may be implemented as part of the solution to meet the real time and batch reporting requirements
Perform analysis of existing implementation and make recommendations to further improve performance, availability, scalability and reduce TCO and take lead in getting those recommendations implemented
Work closely with Global Technology Infrastructure and solutions engineering groups to help define and on-boarding of the future platforms and new technologies
Promote consistency, standardization and efficiency within the TSS database environment
Develop, lead and train a global team of database administrators on the use of new and more advanced features of Microsoft SQL Server more effectively
Lead efforts to develop and improve procedures for automated proactive monitoring. Identify automation opportunities and implement solutions to improve efficiency, service reliability, productivity and cost of ownership
Stay current on the new technologies in database space and proactively generate relevant ideas for new and improved use of technology
