Dell Perot Systems is a worldwide provider of information technology services and business solutions to a broad range of clients. We are currently looking for a Clinical Applications Specialist to join our team in Palo Alto, CA.

Job Responsibilities:
The Clinical Applications Specialist will provide support and development for patient care applications at a world-renowned medical center. She/He will provide second level support, including on-call rotations, in response to user problems and questions regarding system functionality, operations, input/output, reporting, and general operational procedures. The Clinical Applications Specialist is expected to attend key user meetings, and to work across the IT organization to meet customer expectations.

Required Skills:
2+ years of application support experience in a healthcare environment
Technical application support experience using Microsoft systems
Familiarity with Windows utilities and structure such as the registry, event logs, and network settings
Experience in production support and new project implementation
Strong analyst skills
Ability to identify and triage issues, and develop solutions
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Willingness to cover after-hours on call responsibilities
Flexibility, adaptability and a willingness to learn


Desired Skills:
Knowledge of hospital workflow
Strong experience with clinical inpatient and outpatient areas
Knowledge of HL7
Experience managing vendor support relationships and customer expectations
Experience supporting one or more of the following applications: OnBase, Xcelera, ProVation and Softmed

Minimum Educational Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Informatics, Computer Science, or Healthcare related major
Experience may be substituted for education
