Description:
A Technology Architecture Specialist is required at the Disney ABC Television Group Media Applications and Technology department. The successful candidate thrives in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced work environment, is process oriented, and has outstanding communication, presentation and written skills as well as an ability to deal effectively with both technologists and business representatives. Your job, if you are accepted, is to construct and implement the technical design for the organization's use of technology.

Design and develop frameworks or other infrastructure code that other developers utilize to build large/medium/small scale applications and systems.
Develop proof of concept prototypes to evaluate the products and technologies that support business objectives.
Perform software platform design analysis, review, and research.
Enforce corporate standards.
Administer reporting servers and services (Crystal Reports Enterprise, Business Objects).
Participate in cross group learning.
Participate in the definition of future technology architecture and strategy.
Ascertain system volume and analyze traffic patterns for hardware optimization.

Qualifications for Position
Knowledge of architecture, applications, infrastructure, systems design and integration.
Knowledge of security concepts and security implementation.
Experience with Microsoft SQL Server (some Oracle experience is a plus).
Experience with Service Oriented Architecture.
Experience with asynchronous processing and messaging.
Expertise in system architecting, engineering, administration, configuration, troubleshooting, performance tuning, preventative maintenance, and security procedures.
Knowledge of network architecture including load balancing equipment, switches, routers, and network troubleshooting.
Exposure to hardware systems design, enterprise storage and disk subsystems, clustering concepts.
Web and application server expertise including administration, configuration, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
Understanding of Network, application, and data security best practices.
Capturing and tracking functional requirements across the organization and business units.
Ability to contribute as a senior technical resource for others.
Practical understanding of business and data analysis.
Sell and promote ideas across the organization.

Work Experience
Minimum 6 years professional experience in application design and support. Experience in multiple IT areas is a plus.

Job-Related Education
Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related experience.
