Description:
Our security officers provide physical security within Federal facilities; perform roving patrol and traffic control; operate and monitor security and fire systems within the facilities; report hazardous conditions, if necessary; and respond to events of injury or illness. The security officers are also required to act as the primary security response until law enforcement assistance arrives when situations warrant.
We are looking for additional Security Officers. If you meet the minimum requirements listed below, we invite you to apply for this job.
An applicant should:
· Be a U.S. citizen
· Be 21 years of age
· Be able to pass a drug test
· Be able to pass a medical exam
· Be able to pass an extensive background check.
· Be fluent in English
· Possess, at a minimum, a high school diploma or a GED equivalency certificate.
· Meet one of the following experience/education requirements:
- 36 months of ARMED security experience within the past 5 years; or
- Associate’s degree in a related field and at least 1 year of experience; or
- 3 yrs. of military or National Guard (active duty or reserve) experience; or
- Successful completion of Police Officer’s Standard Training (POST) course; or
- Any reasonable combination of the above (i.e., 1 yr. of security experience, plus 2 yr. of related college coursework).
Current armed guard state license preferred.
