Job DetailsTitle: Drafter/DesignerDuration: PermLocation: Atlanta, GA Salary/Rate: DOE - Type of Employment: PermEssential Skills: Drafter, Designer, AutoCAD, 3-D AutodeskJob Description Our client, located Northwest of Atlanta, has an immediate need for a Drafter/Designer for a full-time, permanent position in Georgia. The candidate will be expected to perform a variety of drafting and design functions, and works closely with product engineers on the design and modification of products. Responsibilities include: Creates 3-D Autodesk Inventor models and 2-D drawings for multiple product lines. Transforms initial rough product designs or sketches into working models and documents. Checks dimensions of parts, material types, component fit-ups, and assembly completeness. Makes any necessary changes to existing models or drawings. Works with engineers to determine the root cause and resolution for component/product issues. Reviews engineering drawing and designs to ensure adherence to established drafting specifications and standards. Utilizes knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematics, materials, and other physical sciences to complete drawings. Maintains relationships of models and drawing files in an organized fashion. Processes and updates Engineering Change Requests in a timely manner. Creates or revises JDE Bills of Materials for new and existing products. Understands and practices the company quality procedures. Required Education/Skills/Experience: Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or one to three years related experience and/or training. One to three years of practical experience utilizing AutoCAD Inventor to create and modify designs. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistics particularly as related to tolerance, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry are desirable. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations is required. The client prefers local metro Atlanta candidates, but is willing to offer relocation assistance for the right out-of-state candidate. Visa sponsorship not available for this position.
