SCOPE:
Provides support to the initiatives of the CHS Department of Onsite Clinical Care in the areas of business development, project management, program development, implementation of clinical services at client facilities, oversight of clinical care delivery at client facilities, and the use of clinical information systems and technology as tools to provide care. This position is working remote from home with 80% travel.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing Program and licensure as a registered nurse to practice in one of the 50 states or the District of Columbia required. Ten (10) to fifteen (15) years of clinical practice, previous medical management experience, and experience providing clinical oversight to nurses, medical assistants and other staff strongly desired. Maintain medical education criteria established by the State Department of Professional Regulation (or equivalent) for licensure. Must possess Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS). Experience in Occupational Medicine a plus. Compact licensure a plus.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
All activity of the Physician Lead lies within the CHS Department of Onsite Clinical Care
Business Development
· Explains to potential clients the philosophy, scope, and goals of care delivered in onsite clinics (staffed with medical assistants, nurses, mid-level providers, or physicians) regarding medical care and lifestyle coaching.
· Aids in the description of current and future services consistent with the department in Request for Proposal responses to potential clients
Clinical Program Support / Project Management
· Provides clinical oversight of the HRA (Health Risk Assessment) Programs in conjunction with the design, development, and deployment teams in this area
· Develops the clinical curriculum for the Health Coaching / Care Management staff in conjunction with the Director of Wellness
· Works with the Director of Quality to create clinical quality measures and develop programs to ascertain the achievement of the measures
· Assists in the development and review processes of evidence based clinical guidelines in the areas of occupational health care, acute care, preventive care, and chronic care for use in onsite health centers
· Aids in formulating, documenting, and maintaining medical service policies, protocols, guidelines, instructions, and standards for medical services programs and plans.
· Helps in developing and interpreting policies covering conformance, maintenance, and improvement of health standards.
· Facilitates a clinical advising program for mid-level providers and collaborates with onsite health center medical directors to achieve outcomes consistent with and better than national benchmark quality measures. In addition to meeting client specific performance guarantees; specific elements of the program may include:
o Weekly “morning” reports
o Monthly discussions regarding areas of specialty (e.g. Endocrinology à Diabetes)
o Mid-quarter peer chart reviews
o Quarterly In-Service retreats
· Provides onsite health center implementation support including but not limited to clinical care and advanced provider training on EMR system
Clinical Information System Support
· EMR / EPM experience is preferred.
