Note: This position can be located in either Phoenix, AZ or Houston, TX.
Position Summary
Serves as the senior human resource strategic business partner and primary point of contact for assigned geographic areas, location or functional groups. Responsible for managing all functional areas of human resources including, but not limited to, employee relations, recruitment and employment, job evaluation, training and special projects. May have supervisory responsibility for other functional staff or temporary help.
Essential Job Functions
Serve as the HR strategic business partner by consulting with business partners to resolve challenges and develop HR based solutions to business problems.
Investigate and lead employee relations issues such as harassment allegations, disciplinary actions and employee grievances. Provide guidance and recommendations for problem resolution.
Objectively coach employees and management through complex, difficult performance issues.
Ensure effective and consistent application of Crown Castle’s corrective action plan and guidelines. Partner with management to communicate various policies, procedures and federal, state and local employment laws.
Manage the recruiting process by partnering with Staffing, Hiring Managers, and compensation to determine the best candidate and compensation for potential employees.
Facilitate the annual performance management review process, including counseling managers through performance evaluations and all compensation decisions.
Identify, assist with design, and facilitate training for the workforce. Help to develop, market, and deliver organization-wide projects and/or programs in the areas of change management, talent management, mentoring, and succession planning.
Provide appropriate management/employee counseling while maintaining the needs of the organization and employee-management issues and concerns.
Implement and administer Company wide and or area/function HR programs to enhance Crown Castle’s strategic objectives.
Participates in the investigation and preparation of initial responses for all matters relating to EEOC, Federal and State Employment inquiries.
Education/Certifications
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
Experience/Minimum Requirements
Seven (7) years of broad-based Human Resource generalist experience
Previous experience developing cost effective recruitment strategies, conducting high volume recruiting, interview and placement of entry level to management positions
Experience in employee relations and working knowledge of employment law
Other Skills/Abilities
Working knowledge of compensation and benefits packages/programs
Strong consultative skills, excellent written and oral communication and professional facilitation abilities are necessary
Ability to develop and maintain excellent relationships with internal customers
Ability to effectively organize, prioritize and execute on HR initiatives to enhance corporate performance
Ability to identify training needs, develop and deliver on a variety of HR topics
Must have strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and the ability to learn HRMS system (JDE)

Reports to: VP Training & Organizational Development
Title(s) of direct reports (if applicable): Receptionist
Working Conditions: Works in a normal office setting with no exposure to adverse environmental conditions. Ability to travel up to 15%.
