Description:
Reporting directly to the Quality Manager, this position is responsible for quality systems and food safety on the afternoon shift. This includes evaluating daily issues with raw materials, in-process and finished goods, troubleshooting production issues, hold & release of out of spec materials and communication of issues to manufacturing and follow-up corrective actions.
As the Afternoon shift Quality Systems Supervisor, you have the following responsibilities, but limited to:
Ensure packaging materials conform to their specifications and deal with issues arising from non conforming packaging materials including hold & release of in process or finished goods
Aid in the disposition of non-conforming materials by helping to maintain the holdrelease program
Ensure that test equipment and inspection processes are routinely checked for accuracy
Aid personnel with the use of quality equipment, HACCP, GMP, Kosher, Allergens, and other quality programs including SPC
Conduct GMP, sanitation and traceability audits as required and work with plant employees to ensure GMPs are implemented and maintained throughout the process area
Provide technical assistance to other departments to assist in resolving quality related problems
Perform inspections of in process goods, take corrective actions where needed
Audit production and quality documentation to ensure documentation is complete and accurate
Manage activities of quality lead hands and coordinate activities with daily needs
Ensure quality lead hands and manufacturing employees complete CCP checks of metal detectors, and label controls
Perform allergen changeover inspections and sign off that equipment and manufacturing lines are free of allergens. Complete inspections of materials in metal detection reject bins
Key participant in product trials and PPAR assessments with product development, coordinate sampling, evaluation of trial products, and set-up of specifications used by manufacturing
Investigate consumer complaints as needed
Maintain accuracy and calibration of lab testing equipment in lab and on production floor
Maintain list of rework available and coordinate with Quality Manager on disposition of held goods
Demonstrating the following competencies: problem solving, decision making, excellent results driven and execution abilities, excellent communication and leadership skills, and ability to motivate others and coordinate activities in a unionized environment
