Description:
SUMMARY
Primarily responsible for formulation development related to new products. This includes branded, licensed and contract items. This position is also responsible for primary technical transfer of the new formulations into commercial operations – in conjunction with the Jel Sert Technical Development Group.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
75% Develop new formulations per the direction of VP of JSBD
15% Coordinate sample generation for JS Sales & Marketing
10% Work with TDG to coordinate technical transfer into OPS
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Must have a minimum of 8-10 years experience in formulating nutritional and food products. Ability to work with others in a high-paced environment. Organizational skills for managing multiple projects, deadlines, and team members. General knowledge of Jel Sert manufacturing procedures, capabilities, and departments (i.e.: powder blending and filling, liquid processing and filling, etc.) Bachelors degree required, Masters in Food Science a plus.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Must have excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
REASONING ABILITY
Must have strong analytical skills.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to move within the facility between the office, lab and manufacturing environments
Must have average or better taste, vision, and smell as well as have good color perception
May be required to lift/carry/push/pull up to 25 lbs as needed

Exposure to hazardous chemicals with appropriate safety precautions and equipment.
