Description:
We are seeking a Network Engineer to join a growing Information Technology team. This role is responsible for installing, configuring, and troubleshooting computer networks, telecommunications, and access control solutions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include:
General LAN/WAN responsibilities
Network configuration management
Maintain network diagrams and associated network documentation
Perform network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose network problems
Upgrade network hardware and software, as required
Maintain firewalls and secure remote access solutions
Work with the development and systems integration teams to ensure all proprietary and third party applications properly integrate with the firm’s network infrastructure
Review capacity reports, problem records and performance monitors to evaluate performance of network and participate in capacity planning
Provide support off-hours and remotely when needed
Required Skills / Experience:
BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience
Minimum 5 years direct experience installing and maintaining highly available, redundant network
Infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls and load balancers
Advanced knowledge of networking: TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP and PM SM and DM
Advanced knowledge of Cisco equipment (Cat 6500, 4500, Nexus 5k, ASA, etc.) and configuration
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Financial Services / Trading experience a plus
Web hosting / ecommerce or other 24x7x365 experience a plus
